We have extensive experience in education, housing, and healthcare which is complemented by wider experience on commercial, industrial, leisure, retail and religious projects.
We have undertaken appointments across a wide range of project types with projects ranging from £50,000 to £150 million in value.

Education
SDA have a strong track record of working with Universities and Colleges to provide first class educational facilities including academic buildings, lecture theatres, laboratories, research facilities, sports centres, leisure facilities, student hubs and infrastructure works. The Practice also provides lead consultant services on a wide programme of school refurbishments, internal alterations, extensions and remodelling projects.

Social Housing
SDA have long term experience of working with social housing providers and local authorities on the full range of property types, from large scale regeneration projects to self contained flats for young homeless people and independent living facilities for special needs groups; from bungalows for the over 55s to extra care schemes which incorporate a full range of communal facilities including health clinic facilities, respite units, shops, restaurants and hair salons.
Healthcare
Our experience ranges from property surveys to demoltion, new build, refurbishment and internal alteration projects for NHS Trusts, to new GP surgeries, medical centres and pharmacies.
Extra Care
SDA have specialised in the provision of extra care, retirement living and sheltered housing schemes. In the last 10 years we have successfully delivered over 740 extra care units with a construction value of over £83m.
Leisure
SDA’s experience includes large scale state-of-the art sports and leisure facilities such as:
- £27m Orford Park project for Warrington MBC which is the largest Olympic legacy project outside of London, and provides sports facilities of a national quality with a vibrant community centre at its hub. In addition to state of the art leisure facilities and a swimming pool the hub also contains doctor's surgeries, a new library with IT suites, pharmacy, cafe, creche and a 14-19 Diploma Centre together with flexible areas for use by voluntary and community groups.
