11/07/19 - SDA were honoured to participate in Efficiency North’s 4th Annual Conference held on 11th July 2019 for social housing, construction and training professionals. SDA Associate, Julie Smith, participated in a presentation by George Paterson, Director of Property Services,Together Housing Group on the challenges of managing a high rise estate. As part of a knowledge-sharing and innovation workshop, held in the “Brain Gym”, Crib Lane, Halifax featured as a best practice case study. SDA acted as Employer’s Agent on the project which involved clearing land for new build development including asbestos removal (biggest contract in UK social housing) and demolition of 3 high rise blocks, 1 large depot and shops. Costs were in excess of £6m. SDA co-ordinated numerous stakeholders and activities. Demolition contractor, Rhodar, also co-presented the case study.
